About This Work
This Forest Art Print NZ explores the forgotten spaces of pine forests planted by man, perhaps even echoing the distant feel of Siberian birch forests. Created during a Barcelona summer as the artist searched for cooler subject matter, Forest 3c captures the essence of solitude and contemplative spaces.
The piece showcases advanced textured underpainting techniques that bring out the nuanced feeling of bark texture and lichen detail. Patches of colour are set within a wintery white palette enhanced with soft pastels, creating depth and visual interest through textural application.
